National Museum of Turkmen Carpets opens in Bukhara

Bukhara, The Gulf Observer: The opening ceremony of the National Museum of Turkmen Carpets and the Carpet Weaving Center “SD TURKMEN HALY” took place in Bukhara as part of Turkmenistan Culture Days.
The solemn event was attended by the Regional Hokim Botir Zaripov, members of the delegation of Turkmenistan, masters of carpet weaving, representatives of Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan cultural centers, the general public, friendship societies, and media workers.
At the opening ceremony, organized at the citizens’ assembly of the “Istiqlal” neighborhood in Bukhara, a symbolic ribbon was cut, and the activities of the National Museum of Turkmen Carpets and the Carpet Weaving Center were launched.
The guests got acquainted with the activities of the museum. Many exhibits are dedicated to the history of Turkmen carpet weaving, carpets of different colors and types, and manuals related to carpet weaving. There are also several sources telling about Turkmen culture. It was noted that this place would become one of the essential destinations for tourists visiting Bukhara.
The delegation also visited the Carpet Weaving Center. A cultural event was organized.
