Nawaz Raza’s ‘Mard-e-Ahan Nawaz Sharif’ Declared a National Document at Book Launch Ceremony

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: A grand launch ceremony of the book “Mard-e-Ahan Nawaz Sharif” authored by senior journalist Nawaz Raza was held at the Information Academy, jointly organized by Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (Dastoor) and Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (Dastoor). The event was presided over by Pakistan Muslim League-N Chairman Raja Zafar-ul-Haq and attended by a host of federal ministers, journalists, political and religious leaders.

The speakers unanimously praised the book as not just a biography but a national document that captures the 75-year political and democratic journey of Pakistan through the lens of Nawaz Sharif’s leadership.

Nawaz Sharif’s Courage Recognized

Speaking at the ceremony, Federal Minister for SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam, emphasized that if Nawaz Sharif had not made the courageous decision to conduct nuclear tests in 1998, Pakistan’s fate might have been drastically different. “His decision made Pakistan’s defense invincible. We will celebrate May 28 with renewed spirit,” he said.

Federal Minister Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry stated, “Nawaz Sharif’s politics are not driven by power, but by values. He strengthened the federation and brought an era of development to the country.”

Raja Zafar-ul-Haq Reflects on History

In his address, Raja Zafar-ul-Haq revealed that former President General Pervez Musharraf had once offered him the position of Prime Minister, which he declined. “When I informed Nawaz Sharif about this in Jeddah, he acknowledged my loyalty,” he said. Zafar-ul-Haq described Sharif as a clean and visionary leader who always believed in collective consultation.

Praise for Nawaz Raza’s Work

Senior journalists including Hanif Khalid, Tahir Khalil, Tariq Sumair, Khalid Azeem, Nisar Chaudhary and Malik M. Shafiq called the book a powerful and insightful reflection of Pakistan’s political struggles, shedding light on resistance politics, conspiracies, and Nawaz Sharif’s resilience.

Nawaz Raza, addressing the gathering, said, “Writing this book while working for Nawa-i-Waqt was no easy task. I did not indulge in flattery—I have been both a critic and admirer. Nawaz Sharif’s services to the nation are undeniable.”

National Unity and Regional Peace Emphasized

All speakers stressed that Pakistan desires peace in the region, but any aggression from India would receive a befitting response. “Peace should not be mistaken for weakness,” they asserted. “The nation is united and knows how to defend itself.”

A Testament to Political Struggles and Sacrifices

Former Press Secretary to the PM, said the book comes at a time when baseless allegations are rife against Nawaz Sharif. General (R) Abdul Qayyum added that the armed forces and people of Pakistan stand united for the nation’s defense, and warned India against irresponsible statements.

Mard-e-Ahan Nawaz Sharif by Nawaz Raza was hailed as a reflective, informative, and timely publication, rich with political insight, historical context, and a message of unity and resilience. The event ended with prayers for Nawaz Sharif’s continued role in national leadership and Pakistan’s lasting prosperity.
