Netanyahu Rejects Establishment of Field Hospital for Palestinian Children in Gaza

Tel Aviv, The Gulf Observer: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally rejected the proposal to establish a field hospital to treat Palestinian children wounded in Israel’s ongoing offensive on Gaza.

In an official statement, Netanyahu’s office declared, “Netanyahu has notified in writing that he does not approve the establishment of a hospital for Gazans within Israel – and therefore it will not be established.”

The announcement follows a statement from Defense Minister Yoav Gallant’s office, which had previously declared the intention to set up the field hospital due to the extended closure of Gaza’s Rafah crossing into Egypt. The proposed hospital was aimed at providing medical assistance to Palestinian children affected by the conflict.

The rejection has sparked a debate over the humanitarian response to the ongoing situation in Gaza, highlighting the complexities and challenges in addressing the needs of those affected by the conflict.
