Norwegian PM Lauds Discussions with Qatar’s Amir on Gaza Ceasefire

Oslo, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister of Norway, His Excellency Jonas Gahr Støre, expressed his appreciation for the constructive discussions held with the Amir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, regarding the pressing need for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement posted on his official X account on Wednesday, Prime Minister Støre shared his sentiments following the high-level meeting. “Honored to host HH the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Appreciate good exchange on the urgent need for a ceasefire in Gaza, the fragile situation in the Middle East, and Afghanistan and Ukraine. Qatar is a valued partner on peace and reconciliation,” he wrote.

The meeting, held in Oslo, underscored the importance of international cooperation and dialogue in addressing ongoing conflicts and fostering stability in the region. Both leaders emphasized the critical need for a ceasefire in Gaza amidst the ongoing humanitarian crisis, while also discussing broader issues of peace and reconciliation in conflict zones such as Afghanistan and Ukraine.
