OCCI, Govt. Oman Collaborate on “Partnership and Integration” Program for Private Sector Advancement

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), in conjunction with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, hosted the “Partnership and Integration” program today, focusing on finding innovative solutions to challenges hindering the progress of the Omani private sector. The initiative seeks to elevate performance levels and align with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, fostering an effective and proactive private sector.

Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, emphasized that the proposed solutions discussed during the program are tailored to address the real challenges faced by the private sector, enhancing its competitiveness with precision and clarity. Minister Al Yousef underlined the ongoing efforts of private sector establishments to contribute to national economic development through strategic partnerships.

The program aims to empower the private sector by creating new business opportunities, attracting quality investments, enhancing exports, and fostering a competitive business environment. Minister Al Yousef highlighted the ministry’s commitment to streamlining procedures, improving services, protecting competition, and preventing monopoly.

Minister of Economy, Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, emphasized that these programs align with national goals, aiming to achieve integration, enhance the capabilities of the national economy, and elevate Oman’s standing in the global business environment. Dr. Mahad Said Ba’owain, Minister of Labour, stressed that the collaboration between the public and private sectors seeks to create a business-friendly environment that ensures sustainability and growth, contributing significantly to the national economy.

Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of OCCI, provided a visual presentation outlining the collaborative efforts with the government’s legislative and executive branches. The aim is to foster a favorable climate for the consensus of ideas and visions, leading to sustainable solutions that enhance the private sector’s performance indicators and contributions to the national economic system. Al Rowas also highlighted OCCI’s strategic approach to improving the business environment.

Dr. Adham Turki Al Said, Head of the OCCI Economic Committee, emphasized that the “Partnership and Integration” program has provided valuable insights guiding the private sector towards sustainable growth aligned with Oman Vision 2040. He stressed the need for increased efforts, accelerated achievements, and the creation of a flexible legislative and procedural environment to support an improved business landscape, contributing to a qualitative shift in the business community.

The collaborative efforts between the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion reflect a commitment to advancing the private sector and achieving the goals outlined in Oman Vision 2040.
