Oman and Jordan Pledge Stronger Cooperation Across Key Sectors

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, on Sunday received Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, for high-level discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
Sayyid Badr praised the deep-rooted and longstanding relations between Oman and Jordan, noting that the close attention and continuous support from the leaderships of both nations have enabled steady progress in expanding cooperation across various fields.
During the meeting, the two ministers conducted an in-depth review of the bilateral relationship and discussed avenues to further enhance collaboration, particularly in the political, economic, educational, and tourism sectors. They also explored opportunities to boost joint investments and deepen cooperation in key areas such as food security, logistics, and communications, reflecting the mutual aspirations of the two countries.
Regional and international developments featured prominently in the talks, with a special focus on the worsening humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territories. The ministers stressed the urgent need to halt escalating tensions, ensure the protection of civilians, and intensify efforts to revive the political process aimed at achieving a comprehensive and just settlement that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Ayman Safadi expressed Jordan’s appreciation for Oman’s principled and balanced diplomatic efforts, acknowledging the Sultanate’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability. He reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to advancing cooperation and enhancing coordination with Oman in all areas of shared interest.
