Oman Foreign Minister Meets Former EU Council President Charles Michel in Muscat

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Oman Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi received on Sunday Charles Michel, former President of the European Council and former Prime Minister of Belgium.
During the meeting in Muscat, both sides reviewed a range of regional and global developments and exchanged views on key international issues.
The discussions underscored the importance of supporting diplomatic and political efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and creating conducive conditions for restoring security, stability, and peace. Both sides also stressed the need to uphold international law, respect state sovereignty, and apply consistent global standards in addressing conflicts.
Charles Michel praised Oman’s modern renaissance and commended its balanced and prudent foreign policy approach in navigating regional and international challenges. He further highlighted Oman’s consistent commitment to peace, dialogue, and friendship with all nations.
He also expressed appreciation for the discussions held during his first official visit to Oman, noting the warm reception and hospitality extended to him. Michel further pointed to Oman’s growing openness to tourism and business, as well as its strategically advantageous geographic and logistical position for global trade across key maritime routes linking East and West.
The meeting also reviewed Omani-Belgian relations and broader ties between Oman and Europe, with both sides expressing interest in strengthening cooperation across various sectors in the future.
