Oman Participates in Multilateral Meeting Convened by US President on Middle East Developments
New York, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman participated in a multilateral meeting convened by US President Donald Trump with leaders and representatives of several Gulf and Arab countries and Türkiye on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The high-level general debate of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly is being held from September 22 to 26, bringing together world leaders and senior representatives to discuss pressing international and regional issues.
Oman was represented at the meeting by Ambassador Talal Al Rahbi, Oman’s accredited Ambassador to the United States, accompanied by a number of Omani officials.
The meeting focused on developments in the Middle East, challenges confronting the region, and efforts aimed at reducing tensions and strengthening security and stability. Participants also discussed ways to support diplomatic initiatives and promote peaceful approaches to resolving regional crises.
During the meeting, Oman underscored the importance of maintaining dialogue and diplomacy while intensifying regional and international efforts to contain tensions and prevent further escalation.
The Omani side emphasized the need to create conditions conducive to peaceful and sustainable solutions that safeguard regional security and stability and respond to the aspirations of the peoples of the region for peace, development and prosperity.
The meeting was part of a series of high-level consultations and diplomatic engagements taking place in New York alongside the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, where regional security, international cooperation, dialogue and diplomacy remain among the key issues under discussion.
