Omani pavilion showcases country’s flora at Expo 2023 Doha
Doha, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman is participating in the Expo 2023 Doha Horticultural Exhibition under the slogan “Green Desert, Better Environment.”
The Omani pavilion consists of a number of authentic Omani trees, with samples of 1,600 trees and plants that were transported from the Tree and Plant Garden and planted on the designated land allocated for the Sultanate of Oman pavilion.
A visitor to the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion can view information about these plants by using artificial intelligence with interactive QR Code technology and learn about the unique plant diversity that abounds in the Omani terrain and mountains extending from Musandam Governorate to Dhofar Governorate.
The pavilion showcases Omani environment, agricultural terraced lands of Jabal Al Akhdar in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, the Dhofar Khareef environment and the hot environment.
The pavilion also includes some of the perennial trees found in the Sultanate of Oman, including the frankincense tree and the perennial baobab tree (baobab) found in the Dhofar Governorate – and its latest extension. in the Arabian Peninsula.
The Omani pavilion showcases the heritage of Omani aflaj system, Omani botanical garden. A fountain made of Peridotite rocks, which are of high density and found throughout the Sultanate of Oman, have the property to capture and store carbon dioxide gas which protects the ozone layer.
It is worth noting that the exhibition focuses on several themes dealing with sustainability, environmental awareness, technology and innovation, and modern agriculture, and more than 68 countries and international organisations are participating in it.
