Oman’s Desert Adventure Festival set to begin
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, in cooperation with the Office of the Governor of North A’Sharqiyah, and with the participation of a number of government and private agencies, is organizing the “Desert Adventure Festival in Al-Sharqiyah Sands” in Bidiyah from January 29 to February 3, 2023.
The festival will include a variety of events and activities, including cultural, sports, entertainment and heritage, targeting various segments of society, tourists and visitors.
The festival aims to revitalize winter tourism in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate in general and Bidiyah in particular, and to create a community movement to visit Al Sharqiyah sands and learn about adventure tourism there.
It also aims to increase the tourism movement in the governorate, raise hotel occupancy rates, and attract enthusiasts of desert adventure tourism to Sharqiyah sands. The festival will include balloons, paragliding, laser lights, an endurance racing challenge competition organized by the Omani Automobile Association, Bidiyah Endurance Racing Club, and entertainment activities for children. The schedules are divided into morning and evening events throughout the festival.
The implementation of the festival comes during the peak period of the winter tourist season between October and March, as the winter season in the Sultanate of Oman is characterized by mild weather and low temperatures, allowing the visitor to venture to explore the picturesque nature.
