One-Third of Japan's Unmarried Adults Under 50 Report No Dating Experience

Tokyo, The Gulf Observer: A recent survey conducted by Recruit Holdings Co, a staffing service group, revealed significant trends among unmarried adults in their 20s to 40s.

The findings indicate that over one-third of individuals in this demographic have never experienced a romantic relationship, marking a record high at 34.1 percent.

Additionally, a noteworthy 25.6 percent express no intention of ever getting married, a figure on the rise from the previous year’s 21.1 percent. The survey, covering 1,200 single adults who have never been married, brings attention to changing attitudes toward relationships.

Among respondents in their 20s, a notable percentage, especially among women, consider romantic involvement a waste of time and money. Financial concerns emerged as a top reason for men opposed to marriage, cited by 42.5 percent, while 40.5 percent of women emphasized a desire to maintain freedom and independence.

Despite a significant portion expressing the desire to marry eventually, overall numbers have seen a decline in recent years, indicating evolving perspectives on relationships and matrimony.
