Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Pakistani schoolchildren with an interest in biology have been invited to participate in the Open International Biology Olympiad (OIBO) 2026, scheduled to take place in Russia’s Sirius Federal Territory from May 15 to 22, 2026.

The Olympiad aims to promote students’ interest in studying and solving modern biological and biotechnological challenges while encouraging international cooperation and the exchange of scientific knowledge among young researchers.

Students aged 14 to 18 years are eligible to participate as part of teams consisting of two to six members. Each team may be accompanied by one team leader (aged 18 or older) and up to two observers (aged 18 or older).

The working languages of the Olympiad will be Russian and English. However, participating delegations will have the opportunity to have competition tasks translated into their national languages prior to the event.

According to the organizers, each country will be represented by only one team in the competition. The host country will provide accommodation and meals for participants and team leaders, while the sending side will be responsible for covering international travel expenses.

Registration for the Olympiad will remain open until April 15, 2026, through the event’s official website.
