Philippines: Senate Leaders Support Marcos' Call for Unity, Reconciliation with Duterte Camp

Manila, The Gulf Observer: Senate leaders have expressed support for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call to put politics aside and focus on the welfare of the Filipino people, welcoming his openness to reconcile with the Duterte family.

Senate President Francis Escudero praised Marcos’ humility and said it’s time to focus on solving real issues, not political drama. “We need to build bridges, not burn them,” he said.

Senate Deputy Majority Leader JV Ejercito agreed, saying political fighting has only slowed the country’s progress. He hopes reconciliation will still be possible despite deep divisions.

Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada said the President’s message shows his desire to move beyond political conflicts and focus on national healing and development.

Senate Minority Leader Koko Pimentel also backed the President’s call, saying it reflects the right attitude for a national leader.

The senators urged cooperation among leaders as the country faces major challenges ahead.
