President Erdogan Highlights Key Global Issues Ahead of Antalya Diplomacy Forum
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: In anticipation of the upcoming Antalya Diplomacy Forum scheduled from March 1 to 3, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Türkiye has outlined the nation’s focused agenda, emphasizing a commitment to address persistent hostilities in Gaza and the evolving conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
President Erdogan stated on Monday that the leaders attending the forum will prioritize discussions on the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the Israel-Palestine issue. “These are the issues that will be discussed seriously there,” he affirmed in a formal statement. The President further highlighted that these matters would be at the forefront of bilateral meetings, assuring that leaders in attendance “will decisively discuss these issues” during the Forum.
Erdogan also disclosed that Russian President Vladimir Putin will be visiting Türkiye in the near future, expressing satisfaction with Türkiye’s stance on international platforms, particularly in relation to Ankara’s position against Israel’s actions in Gaza. While the specific date of Putin’s visit remains pending, Erdogan underscored the Russian President’s contentment with Türkiye’s “determination” to foster positive bilateral relations.
In parallel, Türkiye’s envoy to the UN in Geneva, Ambassador Guven Begec, highlighted the moral and political shortcomings of the international system in addressing the hostilities in Gaza. Begec stressed the urgency of remaining united in international fora, exerting pressure on the occupying power, engaging with key international actors, and supporting the UN system to achieve a durable cease-fire.
As the Antalya Diplomacy Forum approaches, Türkiye positions itself at the forefront of diplomatic efforts, seeking resolutions to pressing global issues and fostering international collaboration to address the challenges at hand. The Forum is anticipated to serve as a platform for constructive dialogue and strategic discussions among world leaders.
