President Joko Widodo to Lead Plenary Cabinet Session in Nusantara

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: President Joko Widodo of Indonesia is set to preside over a plenary cabinet session at Garuda Palace in Nusantara, East Kalimantan, on Friday, September 13, 2024. This marks the second time the cabinet will convene at the newly established capital city.

“The plenary session will be attended by the Vice President and all Cabinet ministers,” stated Yusuf Permana, Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, via a message from Nusantara on Thursday. He confirmed that the session, scheduled for 9 p.m. local time, will be led by President Widodo, with Vice President Ma’ruf Amin and ministers already arriving in East Kalimantan for the meeting.

Following the cabinet session, President Widodo is expected to inaugurate the Nusantara Swissotel and lay the foundation stone for the Nusantara Duty-Free Mall, significant milestones in the development of Indonesia’s new capital.

President Widodo began his official work at IKN on Thursday and will continue to operate from Nusantara until October 19, 2024, while making visits to other regions of the country during this period.
