President of Turkmenistan Launches Nationwide Greening Program
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: In a significant initiative aimed at environmental preservation and sustainable development, Turkmenistan officially commenced a nationwide greening program on Saturday, with the esteemed participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The launch of this ambitious campaign was reported by Turkmenistan’s official media channels.
President Berdimuhamedov actively engaged in the inaugural tree-planting ceremony held in the southern precincts of Ashgabat, joined by the revered National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The collective endeavor underscored Turkmenistan’s steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship and the cultivation of a verdant landscape.

The impetus for the nationwide greening campaign stemmed from a Resolution signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on March 1, 2024. The Resolution, slated for implementation on March 16, 2024, is designed to orchestrate a comprehensive transformation, envisioning Turkmenistan as a flourishing arboreal haven. It outlines strategic objectives including the creation of forested areas, meticulous care for newly planted tree seedlings, and the fulfillment of Presidential Resolution No. 867 of February 9, 2024, titled “On Tree Planting in Turkmenistan in 2024.”
