President of Uzbekistan Receives Delegation from China to Foster Bilateral Ties

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: On May 13, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly welcomed a delegation from the People’s Republic of China led by Vice Premier Liu Guozhong, currently in Uzbekistan to participate in the forthcoming meeting of the Uzbek-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee.
The head of the Chinese delegation conveyed sincere greetings and well wishes from Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang to President Mirziyoyev, emphasizing the enduring friendship between the two nations.
During the meeting, discussions centered on the further enhancement of multifaceted cooperation and the deepening of the enduring strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China. Both sides reviewed the progress made in implementing agreements established during the high-level visit to China earlier this year in January.
The fruitful outcomes of the Committee’s endeavors were acknowledged, particularly the steady growth in trade turnover, increased investments, expanded air connectivity, and the vibrant cultural exchange between the two countries.
Special attention was directed towards ensuring balanced trade indicators and fostering favorable conditions for the access of Uzbek products to the Chinese market. Both parties underscored the importance of expediting crucial investment projects across strategic sectors of the economy and amplifying regional cooperation initiatives. Additionally, plans for implementing various humanitarian, educational, and tourism programs were deliberated.
Moreover, discussions delved into the imminent commencement of the practical phase of work on the PRC-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, signifying a significant milestone in regional connectivity and economic integration.
The meeting between President Mirziyoyev and Vice Premier Liu Guozhong underscored the mutual commitment of Uzbekistan and China to deepen their comprehensive partnership, foster economic collaboration, and promote regional stability and prosperity.
