President Pezeshkian Affirms Iran’s Commitment to Peace in Call with Saudi Crown Prince

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s commitment to peace and regional cooperation during a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, emphasizing that while Iran does not seek war with any country, it remains fully prepared to defend itself if necessary.

In the conversation, President Pezeshkian underscored Iran’s readiness to engage in dialogue to ease regional tensions based on mutual respect and shared interests. “We do not seek war with any country, but we have no hesitation in defending ourselves, and our readiness and capability in this regard are at the highest level,” he stated.

The Iranian President extended warm Eid al-Fitr greetings to the Saudi Crown Prince, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the people of Saudi Arabia. He emphasized that shared Islamic values and cultural bonds among Muslim nations present a strong foundation for promoting unity, peace, and progress across the region.

“By strengthening cohesion and solidarity among themselves, Muslim countries can ensure peace, security, and development at the highest level,” Pezeshkian said. He added that unity among Islamic nations is essential to prevent injustices and confront crimes targeting Muslim communities, including the ongoing plight of Palestinians in Gaza.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reciprocated the Eid al-Fitr greetings, congratulating President Pezeshkian and the Iranian people. He welcomed the Iranian leader’s emphasis on Muslim unity and expressed optimism about the potential for enhanced cooperation between the two regional powers.

The Crown Prince stressed that deeper collaboration between Saudi Arabia, Iran, and other nations in the region could significantly advance peace, security, and prosperity. He reiterated Riyadh’s willingness to contribute to efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and fostering regional stability.

The high-level dialogue marks a continued thaw in Iran-Saudi relations, signaling mutual interest in deepening engagement and cooperation on pressing regional issues.
