President Prabowo Highlights Jordan’s Role in Promoting Peace, Strengthening Ties with Indonesia

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: President Prabowo Subianto on Friday evening underscored Jordan’s pivotal role as Indonesia’s partner in promoting international peace and supporting the Palestinian cause during a state dinner held in honor of King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein in Jakarta.
“We are more than just partners; we share a strong bond of brotherhood and friendship,” President Prabowo said, according to a press release issued on Saturday. He emphasized that the ties between Indonesia and Jordan are rooted in brotherhood and must be preserved for future generations.
King Abdullah II expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome extended to him and the Jordanian delegation during the visit. He noted Indonesia’s important position in the global Muslim community, particularly through its diplomacy in challenging times.
The King highlighted that his visit was not only in his capacity as a head of state but also as a brother committed to strengthening the historical bond between the two nations. He added that Jordan’s support for Indonesia during difficult periods reflects the spirit of genuine brotherhood.
The state dinner served as a symbol of enduring solidarity and the close relationship between Indonesia and Jordan, which established diplomatic ties in 1951.
Prior to the dinner, President Prabowo and King Abdullah II held a bilateral meeting during which the King presented the “Bejeweled Grand Cordon Al Nahda” (Order of the Renaissance) to President Prabowo.
