President Putin Arrives in Hà Nội

Hà Nội, The Gulf Observer: Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and his delegation arrived in Hà Nội on the night of June 19, commencing a state visit to Việt Nam from June 19 to 20. The visit is made at the invitation of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Việt Nam, Nguyễn Phú Trọng.

Accompanying President Putin are several high-ranking officials, including Foreign Minister Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Nikolaevich Chernyshenko, who also heads the Russian sub-committee of the Việt Nam-Russia intergovernmental committee on economic-trade and science-technology cooperation, and Russian Ambassador to Việt Nam Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko, among others.

Upon their arrival, the Russian delegation was warmly welcomed by Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of its External Relations Commission Lê Hoài Trung, Deputy Prime Minister Trần Hồng Hà, who leads the Vietnamese sub-committee of the Việt Nam-Russia intergovernmental committee on economic-trade and science-technology cooperation, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Đặng Minh Khôi.

This visit marks President Putin’s fifth trip to Việt Nam, underscoring the significant importance of further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Việt Nam and Russia. The visit is particularly notable as both countries are striving to implement the joint statement on the comprehensive strategic partnership vision to 2030.

During his stay, President Putin is scheduled to engage in talks with several top Vietnamese leaders, including Party chief Nguyễn Phú Trọng, President Tô Lâm, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, and National Assembly Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn. The discussions are expected to cover a wide range of topics aimed at bolstering the bilateral relationship across various sectors.

The visit is seen as a pivotal moment in advancing the Việt Nam-Russia partnership, enhancing cooperation in economic, trade, science, and technology fields, and reinforcing the strong historical ties between the two nations.
