President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Invited to International Forum in Ashgabat
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Chairwoman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, met with President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on Tuesday during her working visit to Ankara. The meeting served to further strengthen the close ties between the two nations and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation.
During the discussion, Gulmanova extended an official invitation to President Erdoğan to attend an international forum in Ashgabat dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the “International Year of Peace and Trust.” This initiative underscores Turkmenistan’s commitment to fostering global stability and diplomatic dialogue.
The Chairwoman conveyed greetings and best wishes to the Turkish leader on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. According to the press service of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, both parties reaffirmed their dedication to further strengthening bilateral relations.
The discussions highlighted the deep-rooted historical, cultural, and spiritual ties between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Türkiye, which are founded on mutual respect and trust. Particular emphasis was placed on the growing role of parliamentary diplomacy in enhancing intergovernmental cooperation. Both sides also underscored the importance of collaboration within the framework of international law to support the sustainable development of their strategic partnership.
As part of the Turkmen delegation’s visit, representatives participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Anıtkabir mausoleum on February 25, honoring the memory of the first President of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. This solemn tribute further reflected the strong bonds of friendship and mutual respect between the two nations.
The meeting in Ankara reaffirmed the commitment of Turkmenistan and Türkiye to deepening their diplomatic and economic relations, paving the way for continued collaboration on regional and international platforms.
