President Serdar Berdimuhamedov Meets with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz
Astana, The Gulf Observer: Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during a working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan. The meeting occurred on the sidelines of the second high-level “Central Asia-Germany” summit in Astana.
The two leaders warmly greeted each other and expressed their satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss key issues regarding the longstanding and constructive interstate cooperation between their nations. President Berdimuhamedov extended greetings from the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Hero-Arkadag, who has been instrumental in establishing and nurturing the constructive Turkmen-German relationship. He expressed confidence that this inaugural bilateral meeting with Chancellor Scholz during the “Central Asia-Germany” dialogue would further enhance the ties between Turkmenistan and Germany.
Chancellor Scholz reciprocated with his own greetings and best wishes to the National Leader, acknowledging his significant role in advancing Turkmen-German relations. He highlighted Germany’s strong interest in deepening its partnership with Turkmenistan, praising the country for its respected international standing and its progressive policies aimed at fostering global peace, security, and sustainable development.
President Berdimuhamedov underscored the importance of Turkmenistan’s relationship with Germany, noting the systematic and long-term development of these ties, supported by over 90 agreements and treaties. He emphasized the value of regular economic days, business forums, and exhibitions between the two countries and recognized the contributions of the Joint Turkmen-German Working Group and the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations to the ongoing development of bilateral cooperation.
