Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev extended heartfelt New Year greetings to the people of Uzbekistan and compatriots worldwide, emphasizing the nation’s remarkable achievements in 2024 and outlining ambitious goals for 2025 in his national address.

Reflecting on the challenges faced globally, President Mirziyoyev highlighted that 2024 was a prosperous year for Uzbekistan, marked by significant advancements in socio-political and economic domains. He attributed these achievements to the dedication and unity of the Uzbek people, noting that the vision of a “New Uzbekistan” is steadily becoming a reality.

The president underscored the progress made in democratic reforms, with the recent elections to the Oliy Majlis and local councils serving as a testament to the nation’s commitment to modernization. Developments in industrial, infrastructure, and logistical sectors were also celebrated, including the establishment of high-tech complexes, new transportation networks, and the growth of IT, business, and tourism industries. He emphasized the rising incomes and quality of life for the population as key indicators of this progress.

Acknowledging the contributions of Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector, President Mirziyoyev commended farmers and clusters for achieving a rich harvest. He also highlighted advancements in education, sports, and housing, with new kindergartens, schools, universities, and cultural facilities being constructed, and thousands of families moving into new homes.

The president praised Uzbekistan’s youth for their accomplishments, including record-breaking achievements in the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which he described as a historic milestone in national sports. He also noted the increasing role of civil society, the strengthening of spirituality and enlightenment, and the growing global recognition of Uzbekistan’s initiatives and reliability as an international partner.

Looking ahead to 2025, which has been declared the “Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy,” President Mirziyoyev outlined key priorities for sustainable development, environmental harmony, and economic growth. He reaffirmed commitments to social welfare, education, healthcare, and science, pledging increased wages, pensions, and benefits for the populace.

The president emphasized the importance of supporting veterans, women, youth, and military personnel while fostering opportunities for future generations to thrive in a modern and competitive world.
