President Xi Jinping Calls for High-Quality Advancement of Belt and Road Initiative
Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday emphasized the importance of advancing high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). In remarks delivered at a symposium on BRI development, Xi, also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, outlined the need for a comprehensive approach to the initiative’s future.
Xi stressed the importance of strengthening strategic confidence, maintaining focus, and taking bold actions with a sense of responsibility to ensure a brighter future for Belt and Road cooperation. Since the BRI was introduced in 2013, significant progress has been made, contributing to stronger friendships between China and participating nations and fostering economic and social development across regions.
Noting the recent period of global turbulence and change, Xi called for concerted efforts to manage risks and challenges, including the impact of geopolitical conflicts, while advancing the BRI’s high-quality cooperation. He highlighted the need to balance the fulfillment of participating countries’ needs with safeguarding China’s interests, urging concrete measures to protect China’s overseas investments and objectives.
The symposium underscored China’s ongoing commitment to deepening international collaboration and promoting mutually beneficial outcomes through the BRI.
