Putin Thanks Azerbaijan’s Aliyev for Assisting Evacuation of Russian Citizens from Iran

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation on March 11 with Ilham Aliyev to discuss regional developments and bilateral cooperation.
During the call, President Putin expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani leader for the prompt assistance provided in the evacuation of Russian citizens from Iran, as well as for facilitating the transit of humanitarian aid sent by Russia through Azerbaijani territory to Iran.
The two leaders also emphasized the importance of an immediate cessation of military operations in the Middle East and underscored the need to resolve the conflict through political and diplomatic means.
In addition, the presidents discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia.
In line with the principles of strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries, both sides confirmed their mutual intention to further expand bilateral collaboration across various sectors.
