Qatar and Uganda Strengthen Cooperation in Labour Recruitment
Doha, The Gulf Observer: In a significant move towards fostering collaboration, the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of Uganda have inked an agreement aimed at enhancing joint cooperation in the fields of labour and labour recruitment organization from Uganda.
The agreement, a testament to the commitment of both nations to bolstering mutual ties, was formally signed by Qatar’s Minister of Labour, H.E. Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, and Uganda’s Minister of Gender, Labour, and Social Development, H.E. Betty Amongi.
At its core, the agreement is designed to fortify the strategy of Qatar’s Ministry of Labour in attracting skilled and qualified labour, thereby enriching the local market and enhancing productivity within the private sector. Additionally, it seeks to elevate the overall work environment standards. Under the terms of the agreement, both parties pledge to streamline procedures for recruiting skilled labour from Uganda and supplying the local market with the requisite competencies, qualifications, experiences, and specializations.
The agreement also encompasses a thorough review of job opportunities available in Qatar, including the skills and experiences required. This evaluation will enable the identification of areas where Uganda’s workforce can be effectively leveraged to meet Qatar’s employment needs, fostering mutually beneficial outcomes.
