Qin Gang appointed as China’s new foreign minister

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Qin Gang, currently the Chinese ambassador to the United States, was appointed as China’s new foreign minister on Friday, replacing Wang Yi.

Qin is the 11th Chinese ambassador to the United States, assuming office in July 2021.

Prior to his ambassadorship, he was Chinese vice foreign minister.
