Quảng Nam Launches “Green Tourism” Stimulus Program

Quảng Nam Province Unveils Ambitious "Quảng Nam Green Tourism Destination" Stimulus Programme

Quảng Nam Province, The Gulf Observer: In an effort to revitalize its tourism sector, Quảng Nam Province, home to the UNESCO world heritage site Hội An Ancient Town, is set to launch the “Quảng Nam Green Tourism Destination” stimulus programme next month. Running until the end of the year, the initiative aims to attract new visitors, both domestic and international, and boost tourism-related businesses to contribute significantly to the region’s socio-economic goals.

Nguyễn Thanh Hồng, Director of the Quảng Nam Provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, revealed that the comprehensive campaign will involve various tourism attractions and businesses, including accommodations, travel agencies, transportation services, dining establishments, and shopping businesses. Airlines and social media influencers will also collaborate to stimulate tourism in the province.

The programme will showcase eco-tourism products and tours that highlight the natural beauty of Quảng Nam, encompassing mountains, forests, islands, and coastlines. Popular tourist spots like Hội An Ancient Town, the Mỹ Sơn Sanctuary, Chàm Island, the Trà Quế vegetable village, and the Bảy Mẫu coconut forest will be featured.

Targeting both domestic and international tourists, with a focus on key markets such as South Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, Southeast Asia, India, the USA, and Europe, the initiative also aims to increase MICE offerings to attract business travelers.

To ensure transparency and quality, Vice Chairman of the Quảng Nam Provincial People’s Committee Hồ Quang Bửu emphasized the need for tourism businesses to disclose their price lists and maintain high-quality standards for products and services offered during the campaign.

In 2023, Quảng Nam Province witnessed a significant increase in visitors, with over 7.5 million arrivals, a 1.6-fold rise from 2022. International visitors accounted for nearly 3.9 million, contributing to an estimated tourism revenue of nearly VNĐ8 trillion (US$327.5 million). Currently boasting 845 accommodation establishments with a total of 17,374 rooms, the province is gearing up for a renewed tourism experience in the upcoming stimulus programme.
