Russia Reaffirms Strategic Ties with Iran During Energy Minister’s Visit to Tehran

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Sergey Tsivilyov, Russia’s Energy Minister, met with Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, reaffirming Iran’s strategic position in Moscow’s foreign policy.
During talks held in Tehran on Tuesday, Tsivilyov described the atmosphere of bilateral negotiations and economic cooperation as positive, emphasizing the continuation of Moscow’s support for Tehran under various circumstances, particularly in the economic and energy sectors.
He underscored Russia’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with Iran, highlighting the importance of sustained engagement amid evolving regional and international dynamics.
Larijani, for his part, pointed to the excellent state of relations between the two countries, noting that cooperation between Tehran and Moscow extends beyond conventional diplomatic ties.
“Tehran and Moscow in recent years have faced similar pressures and restrictions from the West, but these pressures have not been able to halt the course of strategic cooperation between the two countries,” Larijani said.
He further stressed the determination of the leaders of both nations to elevate cooperation to higher levels, calling for the removal of executive obstacles and the simplification of administrative procedures to expedite joint projects.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Tsivilyov expressed appreciation for Larijani’s detailed and precise follow-ups, emphasizing the necessity of continued communication and close coordination to accelerate the implementation of bilateral agreements.
