Sheikh Zayed Festival Announces Record-Breaking New Year’s Eve 2025 Celebrations in Al Wathba
Al Wathba, The Gulf Observer: The Supreme Organising Committee of the Sheikh Zayed Festival has unveiled an extraordinary programme for the New Year’s Eve 2025 celebrations, promising a spectacular night of entertainment, record-breaking performances, and cultural festivities.
The festival will feature over an hour of dazzling fireworks, drone shows, and advanced light and laser displays. These performances aim to set six new Guinness World Records, making this New Year’s Eve a truly historic occasion.
Fireworks and Drone Displays
The celebrations will commence with hourly fireworks displays starting at 6:00 p.m., culminating in a grand finale at midnight. The midnight fireworks show, lasting over 53 minutes, will illuminate the sky with breathtaking formations, setting records for duration, continuity, and creative design.
Adding to the excitement, a 20-minute drone show will begin at 11:40 p.m., featuring 6,000 drones creating dynamic visuals. Among these, a record-breaking 3,000 drones will form the largest-ever image, displaying a celebratory “HAPPY NEW YEAR” message.
Laser and Light Spectacle
At the Emirates Fountain stage, equipped with 4,000 nozzles, an extraordinary laser and light show will captivate audiences. Using 80 advanced laser systems, the displays will transform Al Wathba’s skyline into a symphony of light and music. To mark the occasion, over 100,000 balloons will be released into the sky.
Cultural Performances and Family Activities
Beginning at 2:00 p.m., traditional bands will perform in various festival venues, including the Heritage Village Square and the Department of Culture and Tourism Pavilion. Live performances of Al Ayala, Al Razfa, and Al Naddba by 600 artists will showcase vibrant Emirati culture.
Country pavilions will celebrate with carnivals and folkloric performances, while family-friendly activities, including the Kids’ Theater and a 130-game amusement park, will cater to visitors of all ages.
Digital Enhancements and Live Broadcast
To enhance the festival atmosphere, 3,000 square metres of digital screens will be installed across the venue. For those unable to enter, large outdoor screens will broadcast the celebrations live.

Festival gates will open at 2:00 p.m., and visitors are encouraged to book tickets in advance as entry will close once the venue reaches capacity.
