Successful Implementation of 2024 Election Visit Program Earns International Acclaim
Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Delegates from various countries have lauded the successful execution of the 2024 Election Visit Program (EVP), as announced by a representative from the Secretariat General of the House of Representatives (DPR).
Endah Tjahjani Dwirini, Head of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Bureau of the DPR Secretariat General, highlighted the international delegates’ positive response to the EVP. She expressed satisfaction with the high level of enthusiasm displayed by participants throughout the program, attributing it to the profound interest in Indonesia’s 2024 General Elections.
“The outstanding enthusiasm of the delegates has been evident since their arrival, reflecting their appreciation for the program,” stated Dwirini in a press release issued by the DPR.
During their visit, the delegates engaged in various activities, including seminars on Indonesia’s election system and the meticulous monitoring of the vote counting process. Dwirini emphasized that the delegates were particularly impressed by the dedication and efficiency of polling station officers, showcasing the enduring values of cooperation upheld by Indonesians.
Eric Jones, a delegate from Northern Illinois University (NIU) in the United States, commended the 2024 EVP in Bali, expressing gratitude for the valuable insights gained from observing Indonesia’s social and political dynamics.
Elibariki Immanuel Kingu, representing the parliament of Tanzania, extended congratulations to Indonesia for successfully organizing one of the largest elections globally. He commended the nation for its credible, transparent, democratic, and peaceful conduct.
On February 14, 2024, Indonesia held its general elections, with approximately 204.8 million registered voters participating. The elections encompassed the selection of a president, vice president, members of the House of Representatives (DPR), Regional Representatives Council (DPD), and Regional Legislative Councils (DPRD) at various levels.
Throughout Election Day, the EVP facilitated the direct observation of voting and vote counting processes in Bali province by delegates from friendly nations’ parliaments and three world parliamentary organizations. The selected locations included Panglipuran village, the Jimbaran area, and the Garuda Wisnu Kencana area.
