Tajikistan, Iran Discuss Expanding Direct Investment in Priority Economic Sectors

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: Government delegations from Tajikistan and Iran held a working meeting at the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of Tajikistan to discuss attracting Iranian direct investment into priority sectors of Tajikistan’s economy, according to Khovar.

The meeting was attended by Chairman of the State Committee on Investments Sulton Rahimzoda and Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Sayyid Muhammad Atabak. The session also brought together senior government officials, entrepreneurs, and investors from both countries.

Focus on Priority Economic Sectors

Participants explored opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation in industry, investment, and trade. Discussions centered on the implementation of joint projects in priority sectors of Tajikistan’s economy and on promoting increased Iranian direct investment.

Both sides underscored the importance of strengthening dialogue between government institutions and the private sector to enhance practical economic cooperation and facilitate the successful execution of joint initiatives.

Strengthening Bilateral Economic Ties

The talks reflected the shared commitment of Tajikistan and Iran to deepen economic relations and foster sustainable development through expanded industrial collaboration and investment partnerships.

Officials expressed confidence that enhanced cooperation and direct engagement between investors and policymakers would contribute to stronger trade ties and mutually beneficial economic growth.
