Tajikistan, Russia Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation in Bishkek

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: President of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon, held a meeting with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in Bishkek on September 1 on the sidelines of the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

The talks focused on the current state of multifaceted cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia, as well as prospects for further strengthening bilateral relations.

The two leaders paid particular attention to issues related to security and stability, trade and economic cooperation, and cultural and humanitarian ties.

They expressed satisfaction with the progress of construction of the Center for the Development of Gifted Children and the new building of the Mayakovsky Drama Theatre in Dushanbe.

The development of trade, entrepreneurship, investment and energy cooperation also featured prominently in the discussions.

The leaders emphasized the importance of further strengthening cooperation to ensure regional peace and stability, including joint efforts to address emerging global threats and challenges.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on developments in the region and the wider international situation.
