Türkiye Vows Zero Tolerance for Terrorism, Stresses Regional Stability
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Türkiye reaffirmed its commitment to combat terrorism, declaring a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorist organizations in its region during a meeting of the Turkish National Security Council convened at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The council’s statement emphasized that there will be no tolerance for terrorist organizations or their supporters in the future of the region. It underscored Türkiye’s vigilant monitoring of attacks targeting its citizens living in Europe by terrorist organizations such as the PKK/PYD/YPG.

The YPG, a Syrian offshoot of the PKK, continues to pose a threat to regional stability.
The National Security Council called upon all parties who encourage terrorist organizations to swiftly sever their connections with terrorism, highlighting the imperative of collective action against terrorism.
Furthermore, the council expressed satisfaction over the reinforcement of strategic cooperation with Iraq, emphasizing joint efforts in security, economy, energy, and transportation to foster a prosperous future for the region.
Addressing the situation in Gaza, the council voiced concern over Israel’s attacks and urged the international community to promptly end the assaults on Gazans and humanitarian organizations. It stressed the importance of comprehensive humanitarian aid to facilitate lasting peace in the region, emphasizing the need for a swift resolution to the crisis.
Lastly, the council highlighted the peaceful conduct of local elections in Türkiye on March 31, 2024, as a testament to the nation’s strong democratic tradition and the collaborative efforts of all institutions.
Türkiye’s resolute stance against terrorism and commitment to regional stability underscore its dedication to fostering peace, security, and prosperity in the region, reaffirming its role as a key player in the global fight against terrorism and its advocacy for humanitarian causes worldwide.
