Leipzig, The Gulf Observer: A high-level delegation from Turkmenistan is currently participating in the annual summit of the International Transport Forum (ITF), which commenced on May 6 and will conclude on May 8, 2026. Chaired by Azerbaijan, this year’s summit focuses on the theme “Funding Resilient Transport,” marking the second phase of the ITF’s strategic three-year program (2025–2027) dedicated to global transport sustainability.

The summit serves as a premier global platform, convening transport ministers from 69 member states alongside industry leaders, international organizations, and the academic community to address the future of global mobility.

Turkmenistan’s Strategic Representation

The Turkmen delegation is led by Suleyman Durdiyev, Deputy Chairman of the State Service “Turkmenhovayollary” (Turkmenairlines). The delegation’s composition reflects a cross-sectoral approach, including key representatives from:

  • The Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan
  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • The Ministry of Railway Transport
