Turkmenistan Plans Heads of Government Summit for 300th Anniversary Celebration of Magtymguly

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: In commemoration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the esteemed Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fraga, Turkmenistan is set to host a Summit at the heads of government level and an International Conference involving ministers of culture in 2024. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, unveiled this initiative during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting. Scheduled for October, the Summit and a Ministerial Conference in May aim to celebrate the profound legacy of Magtymguly.

Turkmenistan’s commemorative efforts extend globally, encompassing scientific conferences, competitions, literary events, film screenings, theatrical performances, and creativity weeks in countries such as the USA, Great Britain, Korea, Japan, Romania, Spain, Germany, and more. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, upon receiving the report, directed the foreign ministry to ensure the meticulous organization of these international events, contributing to the enhanced recognition and honor of the revered poet.
