UAE Delegation Explores Advanced Tech Cooperation During Finland Visit

Helsinki, The Gulf Observer: A high-level UAE delegation, led by Omran Sharaf, Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology, has concluded a successful two-day mission to Finland aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in emerging and advanced technologies.
The visit included two strategic roundtables with leading Finnish institutions, focusing on artificial intelligence, health tech, and scientific research. Sharaf also held meetings with top Finnish officials, including Jarno Syrjälä, Under-Secretary of State for International Trade, and Stefan Lindström, Ambassador of Technology.
The delegation toured Finnish innovation hubs such as VTT, IQM Quantum Computers, and ICEYE, where they were introduced to cutting-edge projects in quantum computing, space technology, and other emerging fields.
Delegation members included representatives from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Advanced Technology Research Council, the UAE Space Agency, EDGE, G42, and the Emirates Research and Development Council. UAE Ambassador to Finland, H.E. Amna Fikri, accompanied the group throughout their engagements.
The visit reinforced the UAE’s commitment to advancing international partnerships in science and technology and opened doors for further collaboration with Finland in critical future sectors.
