Bulgaria, US Discuss Boosting Economic Ties and Investment

Sofia, The Gulf Observer: Bulgarian Minister of Economy and Industry Petar Dilov met with Susan Falatko, Charge d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Bulgaria, to explore ways to strengthen trade and investment ties between the two countries.

Dilov emphasized the strategic role of the United States as a key partner, noting that bilateral trade reached $1.58 billion in 2024, with Bulgarian exports totaling $1.12 billion. Discussions focused on launching a strategic dialogue, attracting more American investment, and supporting Bulgaria’s bid to join the OECD.

The Minister highlighted Bulgaria’s commitment to advancing high-tech sectors such as IT, robotics, AI, and automotive manufacturing, aiming to boost innovation and economic value.

Falatko expressed support for Bulgaria’s reform efforts and underscored the importance of political stability for fostering a favorable investment climate.
