UAE President Directs Scholarships for Serbian Students to Study at UAE Universities
Belgrade, The Gulf Observer: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has directed that scholarships be offered to Serbian students to pursue higher education at UAE universities in a move aimed at strengthening academic cooperation and educational partnerships between the two countries.
The announcement came during His Highness’ working visit to Serbia, where he held talks with Serbian President His Excellency Aleksandar Vučić. The two leaders reviewed bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on the economy, investment, trade, renewable energy, and other priority sectors under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and Comprehensive Economic Partnership between the UAE and Serbia.
The leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to further enhancing bilateral relations and expanding strategic partnerships that contribute to sustainable growth and prosperity for both nations. Sheikh Mohamed praised President Vučić’s dedication to advancing the longstanding and strong ties between the UAE and Serbia.
As part of efforts to deepen people-to-people connections, the UAE President directed that scholarships be provided to Serbian students across a range of academic disciplines, with a particular focus on science, technology, and artificial intelligence.
President Vučić welcomed the initiative and expressed his appreciation, describing the scholarships as a testament to the close and enduring friendship between Serbia and the UAE.
The two presidents also exchanged views on a number of regional and international developments of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by members of the UAE delegation accompanying the President, including Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, as well as several ministers and senior officials.
Earlier in the day, Sheikh Mohamed visited the EXPO 2027 Playground, the interactive multimedia centre showcasing preparations for Expo 2027, which Serbia will host next year. During the visit, he received a briefing on the progress of preparations and conveyed his best wishes for the successful organisation of the international exhibition. The visit concluded with a group photograph alongside the Expo team.
