UAE President Hosts Senegalese President Bassirou in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today welcomed His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye, President of the Republic of Senegal, during a working visit to the United Arab Emirates. The meeting, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, highlighted the strong and enduring ties between the two nations.
President Faye extended his congratulations to the UAE on its 53rd Eid Al Etihad, expressing his best wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the nation and its people. He commended the UAE-Senegal partnership and emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral relations to benefit both nations.
The leaders discussed ways to deepen cooperation in various fields, including investment, economy, trade, and development. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, reinforcing their shared vision of growth and prosperity.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to fostering strong partnerships with African nations, including Senegal, particularly in development-related fields. He emphasized that such collaborations align with the UAE’s approach of promoting effective international partnerships to achieve shared progress.
President Faye expressed his pleasure at visiting the UAE for the first time since assuming office, acknowledging the UAE’s remarkable development achievements. He reiterated Senegal’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and fostering collaboration across strategic sectors.
The meeting was attended by key UAE officials, including Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, Minister of Investment; Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; and Saeed Hamdan Al Naqbi, UAE Ambassador to Senegal.
The Senegalese delegation, comprising ministers and senior officials, also participated in the discussions, underscoring the significance of the visit in enhancing UAE-Senegal relations.
