Moscow, The Gulf Observer: Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the stable and reliable nature of trade and economic relations between Russia and Iran, expressing optimism about increasing trade volumes in the near future. His remarks were delivered during a plenary session of the 15th VTB Russia Calling! Investment Forum, themed “The Future of Capital and the Capital of the Future.”

Highlighting the growing partnership between the two nations, President Putin noted ongoing joint projects in logistics, energy, industry, and security cooperation. He specifically referenced the operational North-South Corridor, emphasizing its increasing role in regional transportation and trade.

President Putin expressed anticipation for the upcoming visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Moscow, during which a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement is expected to be signed. The agreement is set to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

Discussing Iran’s engagement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Putin welcomed Tehran’s request for observer membership, signaling Moscow’s support for enhanced collaboration between Iran and the regional economic bloc.

Earlier in the week, during a telephone conversation with President Pezeshkian, Putin highlighted the importance of the Tehran-Moscow Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement as a cornerstone for future bilateral relations. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed ongoing preparations for President Pezeshkian’s visit, though the exact date has yet to be finalized.

The deepening of Russia-Iran ties and the forthcoming strategic partnership agreement underscore both nations’ commitment to fostering long-term collaboration in economic, logistical, and geopolitical spheres.
