Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan performed the Eid Al-Fitr prayer at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, joined by several members of the UAE royal family, senior officials, and worshippers.

Accompanying His Highness were His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; and other esteemed Sheikhs and dignitaries.

Eid Sermon on Righteousness and Community Responsibilities

The Eid sermon, delivered by His Excellency Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, emphasized the virtue of righteousness (Birr) in faith, worship, and societal responsibilities.

Dr. Al Darei explained that the Holy Quran mentions righteousness more than 30 times, signifying God’s benevolence and mercy. He urged worshippers to uphold the values of their ancestors and embrace Eid as a time of piety, loyalty, and communal harmony.

He also highlighted that an ideal society is founded on righteousness, where individuals treat one another with kindness, respect, and devotion. Due to these values, he noted, UAE society enjoys security, stability, and prosperity.

Prayers and Greetings on the Occasion of Eid

Following the prayer, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed exchanged Eid greetings with worshippers, extending his blessings on this auspicious occasion. He, along with the Sheikhs, recited Al-Fatiha in remembrance of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, praying for his eternal peace in Paradise.

The gathering reflected UAE’s deep-rooted values of unity, faith, and respect for tradition, as the nation celebrated Eid in an atmosphere of peace and togetherness.
