UN Secretary-General to Visit Turkmenistan During Central Asia Tour
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres will embark on a tour of Central Asia starting June 29, with scheduled visits to Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan. The tour aims to strengthen regional cooperation and promote sustainable development.
During his visit to Turkmenistan, Guterres will hold meetings with the country’s Heads of State and senior government officials. Discussions are expected to focus on climate change initiatives and local development projects, highlighting Turkmenistan’s role in regional cooperation and its commitment to sustainable development.
According to a UN press briefing on Friday, the Secretary-General’s itinerary includes high-level meetings in each country he visits. In addition to climate change and development, the talks will cover various aspects of regional stability and cooperation.
