Uzbek sign language to be taught in schools
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: From today 1 January 2023, special training courses on teaching Uzbek sign language and Braille will be organized at general secondary education institutions and Ishga Markhamat monocenters.

Education at special training courses for persons with visual, hearing and speech impairments, as well as parents (persons replacing them) of minor children of this category will be carried out free of charge, other persons – on a paid basis.
Programs in the amount of at least five percent of the weekly airtime of state TV channels will be broadcast with sign language translation, closed captioning or with a “ news ticker”.
