Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Presidents Discuss Strategic Cooperation Following Historic Border Agreement

Samarkand, The Gulf Observer: On the sidelines of the Samarkand Summit, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a bilateral meeting with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, to review progress in strategic partnership and regional cooperation.
Both leaders expressed deep satisfaction with the outcome of the trilateral summit in Khujand on March 31, where the historic Treaty on the Junction Point of State Borders between Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan was signed—marking a significant step in regional stability and cooperation.
The discussion focused on the practical implementation of high-level agreements, especially in industry, transport, energy, and infrastructure, with both sides stressing the importance of accelerating joint projects that contribute to sustainable economic development.
The presidents also highlighted the value of active interregional engagement and cultural-humanitarian exchange programs, recognizing their role in strengthening people-to-people ties.
Additionally, the two leaders exchanged views on the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events, reaffirming their mutual commitment to advancing regional cooperation and ensuring peace and prosperity in Central Asia.
