Uzbekistan and U.S. Strengthen Strategic Partnership During High-Level Meeting
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation from the United States led by Congresswoman Carol Miller, a member of Congress and participant in the Congressional Caucus on Uzbekistan. The meeting focused on further deepening the strategic partnership and expanding multifaceted cooperation between the two nations.
Congresswoman Miller conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes to President Mirziyoyev on behalf of the President of the United States, Congressional leadership, and members of the Caucus on Uzbekistan. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the high level of bilateral cooperation achieved in recent years, characterized by active political dialogue, interagency exchanges, and a significant increase in trade and investment. Business collaboration between Uzbekistan and the U.S. continues to grow, with institutions such as Webster University and the American University of Technology successfully operating in Tashkent.
The discussions also covered key areas of mutual interest, including cooperation in transportation, customs, migration, and cultural exchanges. Congresswoman Miller commended Uzbekistan’s reform strategy under President Mirziyoyev, particularly the modernization of the economy, the strengthening of democratic institutions, and efforts to promote gender equality.
Special emphasis was placed on enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation to support economic and investment projects in vital sectors such as mining, industry, energy, and agriculture. The importance of establishing partnerships between regions of Uzbekistan and the United States was also underscored.
In addition, the two sides exchanged views on pressing regional issues, including the situation in Afghanistan, highlighting the shared commitment to fostering regional stability and development.
