Turkmenistan and Qatar Discuss Energy and Investment Cooperation in Doha

Doha, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, met with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, in Doha to discuss bilateral cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on enhancing collaboration in the energy sector, investment, and transport projects. Particular focus was placed on the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline, a strategic initiative aimed at bolstering regional energy security.
The officials reviewed the progress of the Serhetabat-Herat section in Afghanistan, recognizing it as a crucial phase of the TAPI project. The Qatari side commended Turkmenistan’s efforts in advancing regional energy infrastructure and reaffirmed its support for continued cooperation in this domain.
Discussions also encompassed the expansion of Turkmen-Qatari relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. The ministers underscored the significance of a stable and trust-based political dialogue, highlighting that regular high-level engagements contribute to strengthening bilateral ties.
The meeting reaffirmed both nations’ commitment to deepening cooperation in key strategic sectors, reinforcing their shared vision for regional connectivity and economic development.
