Uzbekistan Celebrates 110th Anniversary of People’s Poet Zulfiya

Jizzakh, The Gulf Observer: The 110th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s renowned poetess Zulfiya was widely celebrated across secondary schools, vocational institutions, and higher educational establishments throughout the Jizzakh region.

A major spiritual and educational event marking this occasion was held at the Regional Musical Drama Theater, attended by literary critics, intellectuals, teachers, students, and members of the general public.

Discussions highlighted Zulfiya’s invaluable contributions to Uzbek literature, her deep patriotism, advocacy for women’s rights, and her promotion of human values through poetry. Excerpts from her works were recited, while musical performances inspired by her poetry captivated the audience. Young artists also showcased poems and stories inspired by Zulfiya’s legacy, drawing widespread appreciation.

This cultural and educational initiative aims to help the younger generation gain a deeper understanding of Zulfiya’s literary heritage while strengthening national identity and spiritual values.

In Jizzakh, Secondary School No. 30, in collaboration with Jizzakh State Pedagogical University, organized interactive discussions under the theme “Uzbek Girls” in honor of Zulfiya’s 110th anniversary. The event covered various topics, including poetry, literacy, computer technologies, cooking, and sports.

Outstanding students were awarded certificates of honor and book collections by the faculty of the Uzbek Language Teaching Methods Department, further encouraging literary and academic excellence.
