Tashkent will host the 18th meeting of the Council of the IBC of SCO states
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: On 23 August, within the framework of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Tashkent will host the 18th meeting of the Council of the Interbank Association (IBC) of the organization’s member states.
The meeting will be chaired by the JSC “National Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan” (NBU), which was elected Chairman of the SCO IBC for 2021-2022 during the 17th meeting of the Association Council, held on September 16, 2021 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
The meeting will be attended by the heads of the leading development institutions of the SCO member states, which are IBO member banks, as well as representatives of the SCO Secretariat and partner banks of the SCO IBO, authorized ministries and departments of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the participants will discuss the prospects for expanding cooperation between banks in the investment and economic spheres to improve their mutually beneficial partnership and create favorable conditions for stimulating the growth of mutual trade and investment of the SCO member states, as well as increasing the personnel potential of IBO member banks.
The SCO IBC was established by the decision of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO member states on October 26, 2005 in order to organize a mechanism for financing and banking investment projects supported by the governments of the SCO member states.
