Victory Day of Azerbaijan Celebrated in Pakistan

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: November 8, the Victory Day of Azerbaijan was celebrated with pomp and show not only in each and every corner of Azerbaijan but in all the friendly countries across the world including Pakistan.

It is noteworthy that Pakistan and Azerbaijan enjoy multilateral very very cordial ties and support each other at all the global forums.Pakistan from the very first day of the former Karabakh conflict, as well as the during Patriotic War in 2020 morally and politically supported just position of Azerbaijan and it has been highly appreciated by the Government and people of Azerbaijan.

In line with the occasion not only ceremonies were held in big cities of the country but the prominent buildings were also illuminated and flashmobs were organized.In this connection, “Minar-e- Pakistan” – the historical and beautiful monument of Pakistan was lit up with the Azerbaijani flag colors to celebrate the anniversary of the Victory Day.

In its history, this monument was illuminated for the first time with any foreign country’s flag.The Azerbaijan Embassy in Islamabad celebrated the ‘Victory Day’, addressed by the Ambassador Mr.Khizar Farhadov and Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Mohammed Asif.

The Ambassador in his speech divulged all the details about the Armenian continuous aggression and thereby humiliating defeat at the habds of the brave sons of Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

On his part the Chief Guest Kh. Asif said that the Armenian occupation in Azerbaijan was always considered as the situation as we have in Kashmir.”He further stated that the relationship of Pakistan with Azerbaijan was historical.

“We have supported our brothers in Azerbaijan in their struggle on the political front or any other front available to us to support our brothers.”He also urged to enhance people-to-people exchanges and to work on establishing connectivity to Central Asian countries.Significantly, Azerbaijani people solemnly celebrated the 2nd anniversary of the Victory in the country and abroad.

It is noteworthy that Armenia kept Azerbaijani territories under illegal occupation almost 3 decades. Despite the decisions and resolutions of the leading international institutions, Armenia ignored all these decisions and resolutions and continued to illegally occupy almost 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories for 30 years.

In 2021 and 2022, the Azerbaijani Government allocated nearly $3 billion to the large-scale reconstruction and restoration activities in the liberated lands. 2 international airports namely Fuzuli and Zangilan International Airports were built within very short period of time.

2 years ago, in 2020 under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijani Army liberated its territories from Armenian occupation and Armenia was forced to sign an act of capitulation, thus acknowledging Azerbaijan’s historic victory.

Azerbaijan ensured its territorial integrity and the fundamental rights of nearly one million displaced Azerbaijanis were restored. During the occupation, everything was razed into ground, cities and villages, buildings, historical monuments, 65 out of 67 mosques was destroyed by Armenia.
